Gorgeous shaving box with folding / tilt mirror. Once upon a time such boxes were used when travel, especially for men shaving or women for the convenient use of makeup. Cute box was hand crafted in 40s of solid wood.
As its mirror was broken, we patched it with hand casted clay ornaments. Cute wreath design on the lid. We wrapped this old beauty in layer of chalk pain, hand distressed and waxed.
Box is in vintage condition with expected wear for its age. Beside other naturally distressed areas we can find a long split of veneer on the external botton with slightly raised side, but not bothering much - if you allow some charming imperfections of the past :) Also folding mirror shows some history behind - there are few scratches and dark spots.
In order to prevent sliding of the mirror when upright, there is a tiny notch for mirror insertion - mirror should be placed in that position.
Old beauty is ready to enjoy as one of a kind, awesome storage display case :)
Total measures when folded: 8.5 x 5.3" (21.5 x 13.5 cm) - height: with tilt mirror: 8.7" (22 cm) / when box closed: 2.2" (5.5 cm) - internal box height: 1.3" (3.4 cm) - glass mirror itself measures: 6.3 x 3.7" (16 x 9.3 cm).
