Stunting size of this large basket, hand woven of wicker around 50s. Once upon a time it was used in a bakery for storage and transport of bread. Gorgeous reminder of our past is ready to become lovely, nostalgic storage and display case at the same time, wedding display case, toys or blanket storage and similar.
It is very much reinforced with wood - at the bottom, on sides and on the top + strong wire net all around. We wrapped it in distressed finish into homemade linen shade paint and added removable lining, made of an old vintage bedding - thick white 100% cotton with discreet striped pattern. Charming woven & wire side handles on both short sides for easy carrying; there are also some sort of wire handles on the bottom side.
Total external measures: app 27.8 x 23.2" (70.5 x 59 cm) / height: 17.3" (44 cm).
Wicker woven and wood are already tired due to many ages, both show deep wear, there are also torn, stains, beautiful rusty metal corners and pins.
Its internal bottom shows much missing wicker, but it is safe, as being secured with sturdy wire mesh.
