Stunting antique piece - extra large wardrobe steamer trunk / suitcase, hand crafted in period 1900-1910s. Coated with genuine leather, many closures and latches, large front carrying handle. Its fabric interior is padded; it has 3 original wooden clothes hangers and 3 removable compartments.
We found it as perfect piece to be recently wrapped in a layer of white chalk paint all over, hand distressed, adorned with French style lettering and hand waxed.
Measures: 30.1 x 20.6" (76.5 x 52.3 cm) - height: 10.4" 26.5 cm), height when open: 36.8" (93.5 cm) - weight app 18.5 pounds (8.4 kg).
Great and deep vintage condition with bumps, odd marks and naturally distressed areas. Latches and closure are no longer in working condition, they can not be closed :(
Suitcase is inspite of all imperfections and deep impression of the past - or precisely because of them - so special. What stories could be find out when this ancient travel case could speak :)
Today it is refreshed and ready to enjoy in each modern interior for another hundred years :) Would be great coffee table and unique storage & display case :)
