Antique Metal Church Candle Lantern Frosted Glass Windows, 1850s
Incredible finding, antique church procession candle lantern, hand crafted of tin around 1850s.
Stunting ornate gothic design all over, there are cherubs, floral scrolls and ornate cross on the top.
Four frosted side glass windows and two clear glass windows (front and back).
Front window opens with a simple pin in order to insert the candlestick.
Really deep vintage condition with tons of timeworn patina, tin cracks, old repairs, mixed with complete rusty surface; bumps, loose joints, many other imperfections.
Apart from a rough cleaning, we left it in its original condition. There are many traces of use on the inside and soot residues. The exterior is not smooth to the touch, but slightly rough.
Great collectible piece can be still in function for a cozy, intimate lighting for special occasions.
